Just a short distance south of Peniche, Praia da Areia Branca offers an element of calm. The small town is nestled on the edge of a small valley that neighbours jagged cliffs. Praia da Areia Branca has eluded Portugal’s main tourist trail and is a good option if you’re looking for some solitude.

Although the summer months can become busier, you won’t find the same crowds as of the more popular seaside towns. Whilst the area has avoided the spotlight, property prices have remained steady, just lower than those closer to Lisbon. There is little facilitation for coworking spaces, but the quiet and safe beaches of Praia da Areia Branca present a great opportunity for learning to surf.
